The Intercessor
Wet whispers of echoed sorrows cradled the contents of my soul
Suffocating breaths flooded my air and the world became my muzzle
Volumes of silence were all I could muster to share of my despair
Clenching to the distance I couldn’t bare the infectious expansion of my wounds
Inserting myself in the ejection of love I resisted all efforts of charity
In the distance of space and time your prayers knocked at heaven’s gate
With your eyes sharper than Hebrew’s double-edged sword; you saw me
Reaching through the tears in my eyes; you touched me through the fog
Closing your eyes in spiritual petition for my life; you extended your strength
Sure of unlimited capacity for the God you rely on; you were relentless in pursuit
Unafraid of the disease in my bleeding wounds; you grabbed hold of me
Knowledgeable of future possibilities; you denied pity and showed me compassion
In moments suited for quitting; you showed me my opportunity for triumph
Never stealing my choice; you granted me the grace of space to heal
Traveling over the bridge built by your testimony; I walked on my high places
Awakening each day in the ripples of your worship; I found my song again
Fighting daily battles with the miracles of memory’s past; my faith grew stronger
Challenging me to pursue God in the generosity of His grace; I pressed on
Encouraging me beyond my trials; I began to envision new life in Him
Reflecting the victory that was blurred to my vision; my scales were removed
You interceded with effectual fervency; my life is forever changed
Be encouraged in these times where the cries of your heart are the only prayers you have to offer to the heavens. The Father hears us and knows our pain in the same intimate way that we feel it ourselves. When we weep and when we are stilled by the intensity of our sorrow our prayers are still heard. The Spirit of God prays for us consistently and our Savior, Jesus Christ, sits next to The Father and intercedes on our behalf. We receive the intercession of both redemption and strength. You are always on God’s prayer list, and the Spirit and Son of God never grow tired of praying for you.
Romans 8:26 & 27
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”
Romans 8:34
"Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us."
